I have a sword.
I like my sword.
So it's in a picture in a totally random way.
Yay!

Hadhafang is a really nice sword, and apparently unusually functional for a fantasy blade. I probably wouldn't feel safe using one, though, seeing as it completely lacks a gaurd. ^^;

If I'd a choice of swords, Hadhafang wouldn't be the one I'd choose in a fight...

Now, that's awesome. :D

As for me, it depends on what mood I happen to be in. Lately, I've been obsessing about Chinese dao's, for some reason. It comes and goes.

However, my "Permanent Wishlist" includes, among others:

I also completely fell in love with Mugen's sword from Samurai Champloo: [link]
Me wants a RL replica. :p

Yeah, I'm totally a major sword nerd. ^^;

Except for the first (for some unknown reason), all those swords would be awesome...dang, wish I could afford to just up and buy swords...

You and me both.
Heck, if I had my own smithy and workshop, I would probably spend every day of the week making stuff like this. or, trying, anyway. Probably be the ruin of me, too.

Speaking of which, have you seen this dude's stuff yet?: [link]

I swear, if I had half of that guy's talent...

Not only do love the pose, I was inspired by your orientation of your sword. It made me wonder how difficult it would be draw a blade of about that length if it was actually slung in that exact fashion. Luckily I had a blade of that length and general design within three feet of my desk, so I harnessed it thus and found that it was a very easy draw.

Now, I can't think of a practical reason to rig a blade thus, but it does look very spiffy. (Even in a purely ceremonial setting - like a cocktail party - one would be knocking drinks off of end tables left and right.) Besides, it's just good to know these things.

:D

Actually, I think the koreans -some of them, anyway- carried their swords on the back like that, and would draw it in a sort of upward-sideways motion. I have no idea why, though.

Ummm, it's wonderful to hear from you, being on the other side of the ocean and all, but it appears you have also gone WAAAAAAAAAY back in time. Could you take care of a couple things for me whilst you are traveling in the past... ;-)

"Luckily I had a blade of that length and general design within three feet of my desk"
Heh...well that's not something one hears everyday...nor something too many people would be able to say :D
And though I'll never have a reason to draw a blade like that, it's always good to know it'd be easy if I did. :nod:
